Risks, recovery and aftercare
All cosmetic procedures are medical procedures and carry risks. This page provides general information. The specific risks, recovery and aftercare for your treatment will be explained to you in full at your consultation before you give informed consent.
General risks of injectable procedures
Common and usually temporary: redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, small lumps or bumps at the injection site, and headache. Less common: infection, allergic reaction, asymmetry, prolonged swelling or bruising, and nodules. Rare but serious risks vary by procedure and will be discussed individually with you.
Recovery
Recovery varies by procedure and individual. Many people return to normal activities the same day, while some treatments involve swelling, bruising or activity restrictions for a period afterwards. Your practitioner will give you specific guidance and written aftercare instructions.
Outcomes
Results vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed. Some treatments require more than one session, and effects are not permanent.
