AFTERCARE
ANTI-WRINKLE/WRINKLE RELAXER
Anti-wrinkle injections are considered a 'lunch-time' procedure and don't generally require any downtime or recovery. Most clients return to normal activities immediately.
After the treatment you should:
- Remain upright for 4 hours - Be gentle if touching the treatment area for up to 48 hours (no face-down massage/exfoliating)
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and spas for 48 hours
The usual range of post-procedure symptoms include:
- Tenderness, tightness, bruising, itching, tingling, mild swelling or redness at the injection site
- Headache that should be helped with paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Your anti-wrinkle treatment is charged as a measure of the dose (per unit), unless advised otherwise. The effects of this treatment are temporary and re-treatment for the same or similar price will be expected every 3-6 months, should you wish to continue treatments and maintain results. You should be aware that the price of treatment can change in the future without notice, in which case, we will advise you of treatment costs before repeat treatment is performed.
Please contact us or book a review before 2 weeks if you experience:
- Signs of localised infection in the injected area (eg. worsening redness and tenderness of the skin, fever, weeping injection points).
- Ongoing nausea, headaches and flu like symptoms post treatment
- Uneven results. This may be due to placement of injections but can also be due to existing asymmetries etc.
- Local muscle weakness reactions including drooping eyelids/eyebrows, restricted smile and swollen eyelids.
- Anything else you believe to be unusual or worries you. A follow up phone call/video call will usually resolve these issues. We want you to feel cared for!
Payments for follow-up care:
As this treatment requires 2 weeks to take full effect, a 'top-up' treatment of a smaller dose may be required. 'Top-ups' may require payment per unit, unless you have followed the advice of the treating practitioner and they have factored this into the treatment costs.
Further medical attention and treatment of complications are risks of this treatment. This is not covered in the payment of this treatment. Review of your treatment is always encouraged with us, but you may be expected to pay for medications, referrals etc., if required.
Refunds:
There is no guarantee for certain results with cosmetic medicine. Outcomes can change based on individual factors such as the ageing process and how well you respond to treatment. We try to provide realistic expectations of the outcomes, but the results are visibly subjective. Results can also vary day-to-day based on factors like sun-exposure, correct skincare use, hydration levels etc. Refunds will not be given if the treatment simply does not meet your expectations.
Complaints Process:
If you are dissatisfied with your treatment, you have the right to make a complaint. We aim to provide results you love!
- Please talk to us so we can raise and resolve the complaint directly with the practitioner who provided the procedure You do also have the right to escalate your complaint and
- Access the clinic’s complaint process
- Make a complaint to the health complaints entity in the state or territory where the procedure was performed
- Make a complaint to Ahpra, the Health Care Complaints Commission or the Medical Council of NSW (in NSW) or the Office of the Health Ombudsman (in Queensland). Please note that any non-disclosure agreement (NDA) you have signed does not stop you from making a complaint to Ahpra, the Health Care Complaints Commission or the Medical Council of NSW (in NSW) or the Office of the Health Ombudsman (in Queensland).
DERMAL FILLER
You should be able to resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Most dermal filler procedures give an instant result (with extra volume from swelling) with minimal down time. Many clients return to normal activities immediately, but you may wish to cancel any plans for the rest of the day due to swelling and numbness from the anaesthetic.
After the treatment you should:
- Avoid touching the treated area or applying makeup for 24 hours
- Avoid hot drinks and food if your mouth has been numbed.
- Avoid kissing for 48 hours after treatment to the lips
- Apply a clean and cool compress to treated areas to help reduce swelling
- Be gentle touching the treatment area for 48 hours (no face down massage or harsh exfoliating)
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and spas for 48 hours
- If directed by the prescriber, ensure you take a dose of over the counter antiviral medication if you have a history of coldsores.
- Avoid overseas travel for two weeks, in case you need to be reviewed and treated for complications.
- Avoid having a Covid vaccine for two weeks
The usual range of post-procedure symptoms include:
- Sensations of tenderness, tightness, itching, tingling
- Mild to moderate bruising. Severe blackened bruising is also possible, but we want you to contact us in this case.
- Mild to moderate swelling and redness at the injection site
- Feeling of lumpiness while the filler settles and swelling resolves. Please contact us for a review ASAP, if you experience the following.
- Severe bruising
- Discoloration of the tissue
- could be loss of colour or mottled/patchy skin
- A fishnet stocking formation of blood vessels
- Ongoing or worsening pain
- Blistering of the skin
- A ‘coldsore’ after treatment. We want to check that this is not the above blistering of the skin.
- Signs of infection. Noticeable inflammation and redness of the injected areas that may or may not be associated with pain and fever.
- Anything else you believe to be unusual or worries you. A follow up phone call/video call will usually resolve these issues. We want you to feel cared for!
IMPORTANT - If you have any symptoms of visual disturbance/loss or signs of a stroke following filler, call an ambulance immediately. Also notify us ASAP with details of the hospital you are attending so we can attend/provide information as necessary.
Regardless of the outcome, a review is highly recommended at 4 weeks post treatment to check the results and allow time for swelling and bruising to resolve.
This treatment was charged as a measure of the syringes used (mls), unless advised otherwise. the effects of this treatment are temporary and re-treatment for the same or similar price will be expected, should you wish to continue treatments and maintain results. You should be aware that the price of treatment can change in the future without notice, in which case, we will advise you of treatment costs before repeat treatment is performed. This consent covers a 12 month time period, but if pricing changes considerably, a new consent will be collected.
Payments for follow-up care:
We recommended that all clients are reviewed 4 weeks after filler treatment, to give the filler time to take full effect and for swelling and bruising to settle. Further treatment may be considered at this review appointment. 'Top-ups' are not a part of this treatment as they may be with anti-wrinkle injections. Further syringes of filler must be paid for and this should be considered prior to initial treatment.
Further medical attention and treatment of complications are risks of this treatment. This is not covered in the treatment costs and you should carefully consider your acceptance of these risks when consenting to treatment. Some follow-up treatment such as reviews will be covered at the discretion of the prescribing doctor/NP but you may be expected to pay for possible GP visits, medications required etc.

PROFHILO
Post treatment, your skin will have some redness and swelling, as well as lumps at the injection sites. You may wish to cancel any plans for the rest of the day or plan for this treatment on a day without other commitments.
After the treatment you should:
- Avoid touching the treated area or applying makeup for 24 hours
- Be gentle touching the treatment area for 48 hours (no face down massage or harsh exfoliating)
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and spas for 48 hours
- If directed by the prescriber, ensure you take a dose of over the counter antiviral medication if you have a history of coldsores.
- Avoid having a Covid vaccine for two weeks.
The usual range of post-procedure symptoms include:
- Swelling and redness at the injection site.
- Lumps at the injection sites that gradually absorb, which usually resolve within 24 to 48hrs but may take longer
- Feeling of discomfort and sensations of tenderness, tightness, itching, tingling at injection sites.
This usually resolves from 24 - 48 hours but may last longer in those with sensitive skin.
- Mild to moderate bruising. Severe blackened bruising is also possible, but we want you to contact us in this case. .
Less common post-procedure symptoms include:
- Development of a temporary or permanent pigment colour change in the skin due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
- Reactivation of cold sores (herpes infections) in patients with a prior history of herpes - an over the counter anti-viral medicine may be recommended by the prescriber to prevent this.
- Prolonged firmness or lumpiness of treated area
- Infection in the skin and subsequent scarring
- Prolonged puffiness around areas that have natural fluid collection like the eyes.
- The risk of blocking a vein or artery with Profhilo is extremely low, (due to the watery-like product and superficial injection), To date, there have been no reported vascular occlusions (VO) but that’s not to say it’s impossible. This blockage could lead to ulceration or necrosis of the surrounding tissue if not treated. In some rare cases this blockage has also caused vision disturbance, including blindness, as well as stroke. Many of the high risk zones for a serious VO are not treated with Profhilo, such as the nose, temples and under eyes, however this can potentially occur anywhere in the face due to the flow-on effect of the blood vessels. These reactions may occur immediately, whereby the injectors witness discoloration of the tissue and you may or may not feel associated pain.
A VO may also occur days/weeks after the treatment, due to the appearance of mottled/patchy skin, a fishnet stocking formation of blood vessels, ongoing pain, loss of colour or darkening of skin or blistering of the skin.
The After Care information should be read carefully to monitor for signs of this event.
Please contact us for a review ASAP, if you experience the following.
We will usually organised a video call with you first and may ask you to be reviewed:
- Prolonged firmness or lumpiness of treated area
- Signs of infection. Noticeable inflammation and redness of the injected areas that may or may not be associated with pain and fever.

It is important that you are aware of the cost of today’s Profhilo treatment, as well as ongoing costs.
This treatment is recommended as an initial treatment and then a repeat of the same treatment 4 weeks later. Profhilo is charged as a measure of the amount of syringes used, unless advised otherwise. Payments for follow-up care:
We recommended that all clients are reviewed 4 weeks after your initial Profhilo treatment. A second treatment should be undertaken as part of the recommended treatment regime. You may have purchased this treatment as a package of two treatments, however further treatment may then be considered at further review appointments. 'Top-ups' are not a part of this treatment as they may be with anti-wrinkle injections. Further treatment must be paid for and this should be considered prior to initial treatment.

SCULPTRA
Many clients return to normal activities immediately, but you may wish to cancel any plans for the rest of the day due to swelling and numbness from the anaesthetic.
After the treatment you should:
- Massage the areas 5 times a day, for 5 minutes each time, for 5 days after treatment.
- Treat swelling with a clean, cold compress if you wish.
- Allow your skin to rest and should not apply make-up for at least 12 hours.
- Avoid extended UV exposure until any redness/swelling has subsided. Apply SPF.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours to reduce bruising. You may resume other normal activities/routines immediately
- Avoid laser, IPL, or skin tightening treatments of the area for at least 2-3 weeks
- You may continue your topical products as mentioned above 1 week after injection
- Avoid using a sauna or steam-bath for 2 weeks after treatment.
- If palpable nodules should form, you can massage the affected areas to help distribute the material.
The usual range of post-procedure symptoms include:
- Initial swelling from the volume of fluid injected, that will be noticeable for at least several hours and perhaps as long as several days.
- Redness, tenderness, itching, discolouration, and tenderness at the injection site. These typically resolve spontaneously, usually within 1 to 15 days after injection.
- Mild to moderate bruising. Severe blackened bruising is also possible, but we want you to contact us in this case.
- Small bumps under the skin, termed micro-nodules, which may be non-visible or visible, may be felt in the area of treatment. Usually, these bumps may only be felt when pressing on the skin. Micro-nodules usually last from 6 to 12 months, and may spontaneously disappear. They usually do not require treatment, and usually do not have any symptoms. The post care massage instructions can help reduce this risk.
- Induration, or a feeling of fullness or thickness, can be felt in the injection area. This is a normal response of the treated tissue to the process of inflammation and stimulation of collagen. Massaging the treated areas gently 5 times per day for 5 minutes, for 5 days after the injection can help minimise induration.
Please contact us for a review ASAP, if you experience the following. We will usually organised a video call with you first and may ask you to be reviewed:
- Severe bruising
- Discoloration of the tissue - could be loss of colour or mottled/patchy skin
- A fishnet stocking formation of blood vessels
- Ongoing or worsening pain
- Blistering of the skin
- A ‘coldsore’ after treatment. We want to check that this is not the above blistering of the skin.

IMPORTANT - If you have any symptoms of visual disturbance/loss or signs of a stroke following Sculptra, call an ambulance immediately. Also notify us ASAP with details of the hospital you are attending so we can attend/provide information as necessary.
Regardless of the outcome, a review is highly recommended at 4 weeks post treatment to check the results, plan for further treatment and allow time for swelling and bruising to resolve.
This treatment was charged as a measure of the vials, unless advised otherwise. The effects of this treatment take time to develop and require a treatment plan. The end results are also temporary. Payments for follow-up care:
We recommended that all clients are reviewed 4-6 weeks after initial Sculptra treatment, for the next vial to be injected (if you wish to continue treatment). This also allows time for swelling and bruising to settle. Further treatment may be considered at this review appointment. 'Top-ups' are not a part of this treatment as they may be with anti-wrinkle injections. Further vials of Sculptra must be paid for and this should be considered prior to initial treatment.

REJURAN
Post treatment, your skin may look moderately red and 'bumpy'. You may wish to cancel any plans for the rest of the day or plan for this treatment on a day without other commitments.
After the treatment you should:
- Unless advised otherwise, keep the post-treatment cream on and do not wash your face until the next morning. A gentle cleanser, moisturiser and SPF should be used at this point.
- Avoid touching the treated area or applying makeup for at least 24 hours
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 24 hours and be vigilant to apply SPF for the following 2 weeks.
- Be gentle touching the treatment area for 48 hours (no face down massage or harsh exfoliating)
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and spas for 48 hours
- Avoid active skin products like AHA and retinol for at least 2-3 days or longer until the redness has subsided.
- If directed by the prescriber, ensure you take a dose of over the counter antiviral medication if you have a history of coldsores.
The usual range of post-procedure symptoms include:
- Feeling of discomfort to the skin that looks and feels like sunburn. This usually resolves within 24 - 72 hours but may last longer in those with sensitive skin.
- Sensations of tenderness, tightness, itching, tingling, swelling.
- Mild to moderate bruising. Severe blackened bruising is also possible, but we want you to contact us in this case.

Less common post-procedure symptoms include:
- Development of pigment colour change in the skin due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Applying SPF vigilantly can help to to minimise this risk.
- Discolouration of the skin, including grey or bluish tinge
- Reactivation of cold sores (herpes infections) in patients with a prior history of herpes - an over the counter anti-viral medicine may be recommended by the prescriber to prevent this.
- Puffiness around areas that have natural fluid collection like the eyes.
Please contact us for a review ASAP, if you experience the following.
We will usually organised a video call with you first and may ask you to be reviewed:
- Prolonged firmness or lumpiness of treated area
- Weakening of muscles around the eyebrows or mouth due to injection of the botulinum toxin. Small doses and superficial placement make this occurrence rare. We may also leave the micro-tox out of the mix for these areas.
- Signs of infection. Noticeable inflammation and redness of the injected areas that may or may not be associated with pain and fever.
- While theoretically, the risk of blocking a vein or artery with skin boosting HA is extremely low, (due to the watery-like product and superficial injection), it’s not impossible. This blockage could lead to ulceration or necrosis of the surrounding tissue if not treated. This is called a vascular occlusion (VO) or vascular accident. In some rare cases this blockage has also caused vision disturbance, including blindness, as well as stroke. This is more of a risk in zones such as the nose, temples, under eyes and nasolabial folds, however can potentially occur anywhere in the face due to the flow-on effect of the blood vessels. HYLASE
You should be able to resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Most Hyalase procedures give a fairly instant result (with extra volume from swelling) but with minimal down time.
- Be gentle touching the treatment area for 48 hours (no face down massage or harsh exfoliating)
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and spas for 48 hours
- If directed by the prescriber, ensure you take a dose of over the counter antiviral medication if you have a history of coldsores
- Present to your emergency department if you have symptoms of anaphylaxis, such as trouble with breathing, swallowing, wheezing, or tongue swelling.
The usual range of post-procedure symptoms include:
- Injection-related side effects, including redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising
- Uneven appearance due to more HA filler breaking down in one place than another.
The most difficult aspect of using Hyalase is judging the amount required to dissolve the filler. It is quite easy to over or under-dissolve. Therefore, a second or third visit may be required to add more filler if over-dissolved or to retreat with more Hyalase if under-dissolved.
- Breakout of cold sores if lips are injected. For this reason, over the counter antivirals may be recommended for all clients who have a history of coldsores.
- Skin laxity, crepiness, or wrinkling that may be due to a loss of volume from filler being removed. Changes to the skin due to the absence of filler may be somewhat concerning or distressing for you. A consultation about alternative treatments or referral to another practitioner may be necessary if the plan is not to replace the filler.
Please contact us or book a review before 2 weeks if you experience:
- Signs of localised infection in the injected area (eg. worsening redness and tenderness of the skin, fever, weeping injection points).
- Anything else you believe to be unusual or worries you. A follow up phone call/video call will usually resolve these issues. We want you to feel cared for!
Please present to your nearest Emergency Department if you have left the clinic and experience the following:
- Signs of Anaphylaxis, which include difficulty breathing, or swelling of the lips/tongue, chills, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and palpitations.
Regardless of the outcome, a review is highly recommended at 2 weeks post treatment to check the results and make sure the treatment was adequate.
It is important that you are aware of the cost of today’s Hyalase treatment, as well as ongoing costs. This treatment is charged based on the area being dissolved, unless advised otherwise. There may be a need for further treatment sessions for the same or similar price, unless the practitioner advises of a flat fee. You should be aware that the price of treatment can change in the future without notice, in which case, we will advise you of treatment costs before repeat treatment is performed. This consent covers a 12 month time period, but if pricing changes considerably, a new consent will be collected. Please note, cosmetic treatments are not covered by Medicare.
Payments for follow-up care:
We recommended that all clients are reviewed 2 weeks after Hyalase, to give the treated area time to recover from any swelling and bruising. Further treatment of Hyalase or replacement of HA fillers may be considered at this review appointment. Replacement of HA Filler is not a part of this treatment. Further syringes of filler must be paid for and this should be considered prior to initial dissolving..
